This babies grave is located
in the Rasor Road OHV area out by the train tracks
between Crucero dunes and Afton Canyon. I can't find
anything about this baby on the internet other than she
died a tender 4 months. I have heard that she may have
died of a lung cold and could of been a family member of
someone that lived in the old town of Crucero that is no
longer there. A member of our group and his wife take
care of the grave site. We stop by and they put up
Christmas decorations during the holidays.
Delores Holland, March 2, 1931 - July 4, 1931
If you know anything about
this young girl, please email us.
The grave is of the
daughter of Mr and Mrs Joe Holland. Joe was a section
foreman for the UPRR there and the place was called
I knew Joe when he was a section foreman at Yermo, Ca.
for the UPRR. Joe was also a constable of the town as
late as 1969.
Joe and his wife would ride a train from King into Yermo
to buy groceries and then take the next train back to
King where he was stationed.
Joe and family also ran cattle in that area. Joe and his
wife had at least two boys named Pat and Kenny. Both
worked for the UPRR out of Yermo. I knew both of them.
Joes mother was a rodeo queen and her silver imbedded
saddle is in a cowboy museum in Oklahoma.
Many of us in Yermo knew Joe and he was quite a
character and there are a lot of stories about Joe
